In a dense forest, there lived a lion. he had two attendantf- a fox and a wolf.

     once a she-camel lost her way and came into the forest. she was pregnant and got tired

     of wondering. she sat down under a big tree to take some rest. the lion spotted her,

     pounced on her and tore apart her guts. but to his surpise a live young camel came outof

     her stomach. the lion took pity on the little one and took it home. gradually, the little

     camel grew up. now the four of them lion, fox, wolf and camel stayed together. the lion

     loved the camel very much. thet were inseparable.

                          

                   Once the lion had a fierce firht with a huge elephant. the lion was badly

     wounded. he could not walk, hence he could not run after his prey and catgh, it. the fox

     and the wolf had to go without food, so the lion told them," Go to the forest and try to

     bring an animal near my den. then i shall kill it and we can eat."



                  The fox and the wolf set out in search of some animal. the camel too went

     along with them. they wandered the whole day, yet they could not find an animal. while

     they were returning, the fox looked at the cameland a bright idea struck him.

     Why not kill this camel? it will provied us food at least for a few days!but the lion

     is too found of him. he will never kill the camel. so, the fox thought that he should

     find some way; by which the lion will be ready to kill the camel and eat it.


           
                  The fox then saif to the camel," Dear friend, our king is in a critical

     condition. he is badely wounded and cannot hunt and hence he is without food. he may

     die of hunger. why don't you sacrifice your life to save the king? this act of yours

     will surely open the gates of heaven for you."



                 The camel, a simple being,immediately agreed to sacrifice his life for

     the king. in fact, he ws very happy to ready to die for a good cause." iam ready

     to die for the king," he replied.

          

                 The fox then went to the lion and told him that the camel was ready to

    be his food. the felt sad because he had speard the camel's life when he was born and
  
    now was going to kill same camel for food. but if he didn't kill the camel for food ,

    he would die of hunger. he decided thathe would not kill the camel but will eat its


    flesh if the fox killed it.



                so, the fox and wolf killed the camel. the lion decided to go to the

    nearby river and have a beth before taking he meal. so he said to the fox,"

    " Iam going to have my bath,don't touch the camel's flesh till i return."



               After the liion had left, the fox thought of something in the mind

   and said to the wolf," Dear friend, you are without food for many days, so go

   a head and eat a little of the camel's flesh. the king is away taking his bath

   and it will take a while before he comes back. he is also wounded and cannot walk

   properly."



             The wolf started eating the camel's flesh when the fox shouted;

   " The king has come! you sit a side. the king will not know that you have eaten

    the camel flesh." the lion on retrun noticed the camel's heart missing.

   "Who has eaten the camel's heart?" he thundered." i will kill him."



             The wolf wad frightened. he did not utter a word. but the fox

   who was very shrewd said to the wolf, " why are you looking at me now? i told you

   beforehand not to touch the camel because th king will not like it. but you not

   ate before the king, but ate away the best part of the camel's body- the heart.

   now pay for your misdeed!"




            On hearing this wolf got very frightened and ran away as fast he could.

  he was sure that the lion would kill him, and went deep into the forest, never to return.

 


            Just at about the same time, a heard of camels was passing by. one camel

  had a big bell tied around its neck. as the camel walked, the bell made a jingling sound

  the lion said to the fox," can you hear a strange sound? i have never heard it before.

  go and find out who is making this strange sound?"




            The fox went and returned after a few minutes. he prtended  to be frightened

  and said," your majesty, if you can run, then run away from here as fast as you can!"

  "but what is the matter?" asked the lion." your majesty! the Lord of Death is coming

  in this direction," replied the fox." he is very angry with you because you have killed the

  camel to whom you had given shelter. he has brought a herd of camel's neck to let you know

  about his arrival. so, run away, my lord, run away as fast as you can."



          When the lion heard what the fox had told him, he got frightened  and he ran away

 from there. the shrewd fox then feasted on the camel for many days.
